Jean Hinesley married Sam Burgess on April 8, 1955.

They were honored with a Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary Reception given by their daughter Sammie & her husband Joe Rhodes and by their niece and her husband, Lisa and Joe Rhodes.

The reception was held on April 9, 2005 at Flat Branch Church Fellowship Hall in Anderson Creek, NC.
